起源
昔は出来事を家族に手紙で報告するのが一般的で、特別な出来事がないなら「わざわざ手紙を書くほどでもない」という発想から定着した表現。
注釈
控えめに「平凡・期待ほどではない」と言う口語表現。強いけなしではないが、褒めていないニュアンス。人や作品に使うと冷たく聞こえることも。
