家を掃除する
起源
もともとは「家を掃除する」という直訳表現。英語ではそこから転じて、汚職の一掃や人員整理など「徹底的に刷新する」比喩として定着した。
注釈
組織の改革・粛清の文脈でよく使う。人員整理や不正の排除など強いニュアンスになり得るので注意。日常の掃除は通常そのまま“clean the house”。

比喩の場合は「（組織が）クリーンハウスする」より「一掃する／刷新する」などで訳すのが自然。前置詞は at/in/on など文脈により変化。
